Copa 71 Film Still

Copa 71

Executive produced by Serena and Venus Williams. It is August 1971, and teams from England, Argentina, Mexico, France, Denmark and Italy gather in Mexico City for a watershed soccer tournament. Despite being one of the most groundbreaking moments in soccer history, you’ve probably never heard of it. And why? Because the players are all women, and the heroic event that unfolds has been sidelined from history — until now. With interviews from Megan Rapinoe and Brandi Chastain and a thumping ‘70s soundtrack driven by female singer-songwriters. SUBTITLED

Saturday 5:15pm

Pick of the Litter Film Still

Pick of the Litter

Pick of the Litter is a wonderful reminder of the extraordinary relationships we have with our dogs. The film follows a litter of puppies from the moment they’re born and begin their quest to become guide dogs for the blind. Cameras follow these pups through an intense 2-year odyssey as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm. The stakes are high, and not every dog can make the cut: Only the best of the best, the pick of the litter.

Sunday 10am

The Secret of Kells Film Still

The Secret of Kells

A bewitching animated fairytale. With the Viking hordes approaching, the monks of Kells are forced to turn their attention from transcribing manuscripts to building barricades. The future of Ireland’s most cherished artifact, the Book of Kells, is in jeopardy and it falls to Brendan, young nephew of the abbot Cellach, to save the day.

How To Watch a Movie

Workshop with Jack Hanley

Proudly co-presented with The Dairy Arts Center

Thumbs up. Thumbs down. You like a movie, you don’t. But do you really know why? Want a real film buff’s eye? Get literate in the language of cinema.

Youth (14-18) are invited to watch movies in a new way with Jack Hanley, Boulder-based film critic, filmmaker, and podcaster who will change how you watch movies forever.

In less time than a feature-length film, Jack will upgrade your knowledge and viewing skills about how movies are directed and shot and how they tell stories to reflect today’s world.

This class will forever change the way you think about, appreciate, and talk about your favorite films!
