NEWPORT & THE GREAT FOLK DREAM

US, Feature Documentary, 99 minutes, 2025

Before Coachella and Woodstock, there was Newport. From 1963 to 1966, the Newport Folk Festival became the heartbeat of a generation—a place where protest songs ignited, voices found power, and Bob Dylan transformed from political balladeer to leather-jacketed rock ’n’ roller. Newport & The Great Folk Dream plunges viewers into these electrifying years, told by those who lived them—Johnny Cash, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Howlin’ Wolf, Mississippi John Hurt, The Lovin’ Spoonful, and the Freedom Singers. The film celebrates a thrilling mix of American music: Gullah Island gospel, blistering Delta blues, fife and drum from Mississippi, and even axe-chopping rhythms from a Texas chain gang. Drawn entirely from rare and previously unseen archival footage, award-winning filmmakers Robert Gordon and Joe Lauro show how music can inspire courage, spark change, and unite generations.

EVERYBODY TO KENMURE STREET

UK, Feature Documentary, 98 minutes, 2026

In May 2021, as dawn breaks on the first day of Eid, a U.K. Home Office immigration raid in Glasgow’s south side sparks an extraordinary response. When two neighbors are detained on Kenmure Street, word spreads rapidly through Scotland’s most diverse community. Within hours, hundreds of residents flood the street, surrounding enforcement vans and refusing to let them leave. What unfolds becomes one of the most spontaneous acts of civil resistance in the history of Great Britain. Everybody To Kenmure Street thrusts viewers into the heart of this electrifying standoff, capturing the fear, fury and fierce solidarity of ordinary people who defy deportation—and, in doing so, spark a movement that echoes far beyond their street.

ON A STRING

US, Feature Film, 78 minutes, 2025

In this funny and entertaining film, a young violist and recent Juilliard grad is barely scraping by, playing gigs that drag her into the chaotic personal lives of strangers. Her string quartet thrives as professional wallflowers, performing at weddings, funerals, and any gig that pays. But when her toxic ex-boyfriend reappears (coincidentally the Philharmonic’s “hottest new cellist”) he drops news of a viola opening in the prestigious orchestra. Determined to audition, she dives in, until her focus derails thanks to rapidly fading ambition, awkward romantic entanglements and a parade of bizarre gigs. Trying to juggle career, love, and sanity, she discovers that classical music and chaos go hand in hand—and that life is hilariously unpredictable. Starring Isabel Hagen, Dylan Baker, Ling Ling Huang, Frederick Weller, Jamie Lee, Eric Bogosian.
